Our Projects
Cavities detection
Smart Line Geophysical survey just finished a consulting agreement with a company operating in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The agreement included providing the necessary consultation to conduct a two-dimensional Electrical Resistivity Tomography (2D-ERT) survey in one of its projects. The aim of the survey is to find near-surface cavities. We provided the necessary consultations before and during the ERT field survey, as well as processing and interpreting the collected data. Then reporting the final results and the necessary recommendations as a final step for this agreement.
GPR project for ground condition
On behalf of Trace Structure investigations Ltd., this project contains GPR data processing and interpretation to provide information about ground conditions, voids, and anything else can tell about the ground to support future grouting to stabilize the ground.
A GSSI GPR system with a dual frequency (250 MHz – 800MHz) antenna is deployed across the investigated site (where possible) to provide the appropriate penetration depth and the necessary resolution to identify ground conditions, voids, and anything else that can tell about the ground.
During this survey, 106 GPR scans distributed in several grids are collected in an orthogonal pattern with 20 cm spacing (Grid 1) and in a parallel pattern with 10 cm spacing to ensure full coverage for the investigated area
Marin survey project
This project was carried out to provide a geological assessment of the area near the Red Sea shoreline. The area under consideration comprises alluvial fans’ deposits. It consists mainly of sand deposits with a few clay pockets. This area is investigated using Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) method and borehole lithology logs. The ERT method aims to determine the subsurface resistivity distribution of underground deposits.
The investigated area is divided into two parts; Onshore and Offshore. In part one, the survey includes collecting 12 2D ERT profiles in the onshore part using Wenner-Schlumberger array. In part two, the survey is done by marine resistivity survey using floating electrodes. This includes the collection of 10 2D ERT profiles.
Concrete evaluation
The Smart Line Geophysical Survey office completed the processing and interpretation of GPR data, as this data was collected in a Canadian region using the #GPR device at a frequency of 1600MHz. This data was collected in the form of a grid of profiles for evaluating the condition of the concrete floor that had been subjected to cracks at an earlier time.
This data was processed using the RADAN software from GSSI, a leading manufacturer of GPR devices, and all results were delivered to the customer in the form of an integrated report.
Wastewater Analysis
Smart Line Geophysical Survey is working on a new project to collect many wastewater samples to evaluate the quality of the procedures the client follows. All the samples will be analyzed for chemical and biological purposes.
At the invitation of the Iraqi Red Crescent, Smart Line Geophysical Survey, with the cooperation of Dr. Ahmed Srdah, started a hydrogeological survey to evaluate the groundwater contamination sources in several areas in the middle of Iraq. This survey includes pumping test, water sampling and chemical analysis, in situ EC/TDS analysis, etc.
